Portage County NAACP will host its annual Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast on Jan.
17 at Kent United Church of Christ at 1400 E. Main St. with keynote speaker Walter L. Ratcliffe; doors open at 9 a.m. Tickets cost $20 & donations support youth programs and scholarships.

Garfield coach Mike Moser celebrated his 100th career victory on Sept.
26 when his team beat Southeast, his alma mater. Now in his 26th season, he became the winningest coach in Garfield history (joining 13 Portage County coaches with 100 wins).
