- ➤ Portage County schools will form a new sports conference in 2027-28 after local boards vote on the proposal & Waterloo already voted in favor, joining Crestwood, Garfield, Mogadore, Ravenna, Rootstown, and Southeast. The change is aimed at reducing travel times and reuniting teams that have played together for decades. Record-Courier
