- ➤ Freedom Township Historical Society ended its bicentennial year by placing Christmas wreaths on the graves of Revolutionary War soldiers—Ozias Hawley, Paul Larkom, and Ebbe Durkee—at Drakesburg Cemetery on Nichols Rd. - ➤ The Portage Foundation will host Rules of the Road for Smart Investing featuring financial advice from Certified Financial Planner Laura Radcliff Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kent Free Library’s second-floor meeting room, and attendees can bring shelf-stable food items to help local pantries. - ➤ Live It Up Super Greens supplement powders sold online were recalled after a salmonella outbreak sickened 45 people in 21 states (including cases reported in Ohio) and products with expiration dates from Aug. 2026 to Jan. 2028 should be discarded or returned per FDA advice. Record-Courier

- ➤ A point shaving gambling scandal involving a 2024 game at the M.A.C. Center was indicted (Eastern District of Pennsylvania) after Buffalo players were allegedly paid $54,000 to manipulate the first-half spread during the Feb. 27 match. Record-Courier
- ➤ Berkshire wrestling finished fourth last Saturday at Eastlake North High School, scoring 160.0 points at the John Matteucci Memorial Tournament.
