  • Ohio Goes to the Movies, the state’s largest free film series as part of America 250, will begin March events with screenings honoring local natives like Steven Spielberg and Rob Lowe, plus special shows for Women’s History Month. The series includes over 250 events across 88 counties for all audiences.  Record-Courier

  • Customers in Kent who bought Aldi’s Bremer Italian Style Meatballs should check their freezers as nearly 10,000 pounds sold nationwide were recalled after a consumer reported metal fragments + refunds are now being offered per USDA and Rosina Food Products guidance.  Record-Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Former Berkshire bowling and junior varsity softball coach Kevin Johnson was approved as the new Cardinal Huskies head coach on Jan. 28; he is set to lead the team in their first season in the Northeastern Athletic Conference and prepare for a rivalry game against Berkshire under lights.  Weekly Villager
  • Portage County high school sports recaps from Feb. 23-28 show wins and comebacks in girls basketball, hockey, bowling, swimming and wrestling, with teams like Warrensville Heights and Aurora making strong plays.   • Kent State rallied for a come-from-behind win over Central Michigan, scoring 83 to 81 today. Players Delrecco Gillespie and Rob Whaley Jr. led the team under head coach Rob Senderoff.  Record-Courier
