  • Tommy Schervish of St. Michael School in Plain Township won The Repository’s Regional Final Spelling Bee on March 7 and secured a trip to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.—set for Memorial Day week. He correctly spelled eight words including 'durango' and 'cybernetics' to clinch the win.  Record-Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ninety-two Greater Akron/Canton wrestlers have qualified for the OHSAA state tournament (Division I, II, III) set for March 13 to March 15. The event will highlight top high school talent from across the area.  Record-Courier
  • Northeast Ohio wrestlers competed on March 7 in five district tournaments with teams from Perrysburg, Wadsworth, Kenston, and Independence earning multiple qualifiers; the state tournament will begin (March 13–15) to decide the champions.  Record-Courier
