  • Forbes released its list of the best large employers in the US for 2026 based on responses from more than 217,000 employees. Ohio institutions such as Kent State University’s Kent campus, Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, and Progressive in Mayfield Village are among those featured.  Record-Courier
  • Deerfield Ag Services, founded in 1959, transitioned to employee ownership using an Employee Stock Ownership Plan effective Feb. 1 — with help from Kent State, Bill and John Wallbrown will continue to lead the business serving local farmers at its Deerfield, Mansfield, Kinsman and Louisville locations.  Record-Courier

  • The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association announced its 2026 All-Northeast Inland District basketball teams that honor top high school players and coaches from nine counties. The selections, made in Division I to Division VII for boys (and Division I to Division III for girls), spotlight local talent and achievement.  Record-Courier
  • Former Kent State coach Stan Heath and Jim Christian say a MAC team reaching the Elite Eight is unlikely due to modern challenges (tougher scheduling and roster changes) ahead of the conference tourney at Rocket Arena starting March 12.  Record-Courier
