  • Liberty Bible Church in Atwater (2215 State Route 183) will host a clothing giveaway and soup luncheon (noon to 3 p.m. on March 22) where local residents can get free clothing and warm soup.  Record-Courier

  • Early Friday morning, a Schweizer 269C helicopter hit a power line and crashed into Mogadore Reservoir in Portage County—killing its sole occupant, 52-year-old pilot Anthony Jones of North Royalton, while officials prepared to remove the wreckage and contain an oil spill.  Record-Courier
  • A helicopter struck a power line and crashed into Mogadore Reservoir near State Highway 43 in Suffield Township on Friday, March 14th+rescue crews worked to contain fuel spills and survey the scene+.  Record-Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Spring into Health speaker program will be held on March 22 at Randolph Community Center (1639 State Route 44) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free for up to about 100 people; speakers include Jennifer White on nature and healing, David Stotler on pruning apple trees, Sonya Barker and Melanie Mills-Juhasz on spinal health, Ruth Davis on herbs + keynote speaker New York farmer Klaas Martens discussing what weeds tell us, with healthy food available from Rambling Rose Kitchenette.  Record-Courier
  • More than 75,000 bottles of International Delight coffee creamer were recalled after the FDA received spoilage complaints and classified the recall as Class II on March 12th — meaning the product may cause temporary, reversible health issues. Consumers in Kent should check their fridges for the recalled Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll and Hazelnut creamers and discard them or return them for a refund.  Record-Courier
