- ➤ Due to high winds, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad canceled trips yesterday as crews worked to clear fallen trees from the tracks and repair damaged crossing gates. Ticket purchases are being refunded automatically. Record-Courier
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ LayerZero got approval from the Streetsboro Planning Commission at 10030 Phillip Parkway to adjust its expansion plans by adding a drive and door for easier access; the company will expand the facility to 235,000 sqft in October and plans to extend operations in Aurora (its third building at 225 Lena Drive). - ➤ Paper and Leaf is a Kent wellness store that sells hemp products and is unsure about its future after Gov. Mike DeWine signed a law banning most hemp items and THC drinks. The law will start on March 20, and owners worry it will hurt local business. Record-Courier
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Eid al-Fitr ends Ramadan and is expected to begin on the evening of March 19 or March 20 if the crescent moon is sighted; Muslim residents in Kent will mark the festival with prayers, meals, and charitable donations. Record-Courier
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor DeWine ordered Ohio flags lowered to half-staff on March 14 to honor three Ohio Air National Guard members killed in a mid-air collision over Iraq; the flags will remain lowered until sunset on the day of their funerals. Record-Courier
