  • BrewDog's U.S. operations, including its Canal Winchester brewery, New Albany pub and Columbus airport bar, will remain open under new owner Tilray Brands after the deal is approved. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval & is expected to close by the end of 2026.  Record-Courier

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Drivers pay more for gas as supplies tighten due to the Iran conflict. Statewide prices reached $3.68 a gallon (Summit County is at $3.38) and AAA offers simple fuel-saving tips to help cut costs.  Record-Courier

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Kent State is hosting its E-Cycle Drive every Wednesday in March from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University Surplus Store on 475 Terrace Drive, letting locals recycle unwanted electronics while Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations manages the process responsibly.  Kent State Today

SPORTS NEWS

  • Kent State men’s basketball team earned a spot in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) for the second consecutive season and will play postseason games in Indianapolis soon.  Kent State Today
  • Kent State promoted Fran Recchia to head coach of its women's basketball team, replacing Todd Starkey who will join Arizona as an assistant coach. Recchia, who served on Starkey's staff for ten seasons, begins her new role on April 1.  Record-Courier
  • Streetsboro's Jarreau Walker captured his second consecutive OHSAA state wrestling title (113 lbs) on Monday, Mar. 16 when he edged St. Vincent-St. Mary freshman Nolan DeShon in a close match in Columbus.  Record-Courier
  • Tuslaw's Logan Haer and Southeast's Gavin Cantera and Dominic Kemble earned state runner-up honors at the Division III wrestling tournament on March 16 in the Greater Akron/Canton area. Their performances highlighted a strong return for local high school talent.  Record-Courier
