ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A loud boom rattled windows in Medina County and nearby communities on Tuesday morning—meteorologists later said the sound was likely a sonic boom from a meteor entering the atmosphere. No injuries were reported.  Record-Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • Black mothers-to-be and new mothers in Kent can join the Spirit of Motherhood Portage program, a 12-week initiative to boost maternal health. The session will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Kent Free Library and at 2:30 p.m. at Skeels-Mathews Community Center in Ravenna Township; participants must email to register.  Record-Courier
  • Costco recalled its Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze sold in Ohio and Kentucky (sell-by dates Mar. 5 to 16) after an ingredient was reported to be potentially contaminated with Salmonella; consumers were advised to return the product for a full refund.  Record-Courier
