- ➤ Administrators surprised teachers when the Jursa Family's Crash-A-Class grant awarded $1,000 to classrooms at Garfield and Newton Falls. Peggy Shay and Rebecca Eggleston were recognized to boost student engagement, and the program may expand in coming years. Weekly Villager
- ➤ NEOMED students learned their residency placements on March 20 during Match Day as they prepare to graduate this spring. Sixty percent will train in Ohio, with many joining primary care programs at local hospitals (including University Hospitals and Nationwide Children's). Record-Courier
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ohio Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing state routes 82 and 88 in northeast Portage County starting April 6. Drivers will face lane restrictions along segments from Sheldon Road to Garrettsville and between routes 303 and 305 (completion expected late September). Record-Courier
