🚧 Accidents
A preliminary NTSB report on the March 14 Mogadore helicopter crash said that pilot Anthony “Andy” Jones, who left Medina Municipal Airport to refuel and pick up a friend, hit a power line near the reservoir at about 7 a.m.—crashing into the water and killing him.

Panelists at a workforce event on Tuesday explained how immigrants helped fill job gaps in local companies, including roles in advanced manufacturing and IT.
The event at Kent State University Hotel — sponsored by the Portage Development Board, Portage Foundation, Team NEO and Jobs Ohio — also discussed childcare and social media recruiting to attract new employees.

Sam Greer, a four-star offensive tackle from Hoban, has committed to play football for Ohio State after choosing the national champions over offers from Missouri, Tennessee and Florida.
He will graduate in 2026 and said the early scholarship offer showed that his potential was recognized.
Yesterday, Garfield, Rootstown, and Waterloo softball teams recorded wins in Portage County high school sports—Rootstown earned its first win over Windham 7-2, Waterloo rallied to beat Woodridge 7-6, and Garfield won 12-5 against Liberty.
Other highlights include Field’s close contest with the Cardinals and Roosevelt’s dramatic comeback win over Cuyahoga Falls.
Marshall Marketing's survey found that 57% of local adults believe the Browns should stay downtown instead of moving to Brook Park—none of the nine counties favored a change.
The poll, which showed similar support in Summit and Stark counties—adds to the ongoing debate between the team and the city over a new stadium.
