- ➤ After a large meteor exploded on March 17, more fireball meteors were caught on camera in Northeast Ohio on March 22 and 23+ prompting searches in Medina County for fragments. Record-Courier
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ohio law prohibits most open burning in unincorporated areas from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. during March, April, May, October and November to lower wildfire risk; exemptions allow fires in plowed fields at least 200 ft from flammable vegetation, and local fire departments may enforce stricter rules. - ➤ Nichols Road in Freedom Township will close from 7 a.m., March 30 to 3:30 p.m., April 3 for a culvert replacement as announced by the Portage County Engineer's Office for the section between Anderson and Streeter roads. Record-Courier

- ➤ Ravenna senior CJ Ross and Southeast junior Cohen Richardson were named all-state honors on March 25; Ross became the first in his school's history to earn first team all-state (Division IV), while Richardson received second team all-state in Division V. - ➤ Fans in Kent can watch Cleveland Guardians games on Guardians TV, MLB.TV, and CLEGUARDIANS.TV, with the season opener happening today in Seattle and the home opener on April 3 at 4:10 p.m. in Northeast Ohio — cable channels remain unchanged while streaming prices are set for the season.
