GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents planning to paddle in local waterways must register their canoes and kayaks as boats while kiteboards, paddleboards and float tubes are exempt. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources said registration lasts three years and requires proof of ownership, boat details and a visit in person to a registration agent. Record-Courier

- ➤ On April 7, Portage County girls basketball honorees from Rootstown and Streetsboro were celebrated for their achievements.
