The Kent-Ravenna Mayor's Food Challenge runs through April to fight hunger with food drop-offs at the Kent Police Department lobby anytime and at Ravenna Giant Eagle on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Officials say donations of non-perishable items—like canned vegetables, Ramen noodles, and peanut butter—are most needed by Kent Social Services and the Ravenna Center of Hope.

The Portage Park District launched its Community Parks and Trails Grant Program to fund park and trail projects in townships and villages in Portage County — the program will award between $1,000 and $25,000 per project using $100,000 from the 2025 levy.
