  • A 16-year-old student from Mahoning County Career and Technical Center died Friday night when a 2024 Chevrolet Camaro left the road near Palmyra and hit a utility pole, and three other teen passengers suffered minor injuries.  Record-Courier

  • Summit County officials charged Bret Stalnaker with animal cruelty after he allegedly sent threatening text messages, threw a container with the tails of three kittens, and discarded a loaded .45 pistol when deputies arrived on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road in Green on Apr 14.  FOX8

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kent State University released its 2024 Engagement and Well-Being Survey results that show most respondents feel comfortable on campus while some groups, including students and staff, raised concerns about mental health, workload, and retention—university leaders plan to work with Rankin Climate to address these issues.   • Kent State alumna Emily Clark used her English degree – a tool that helped her solve business challenges using AI – to build a high-tech career as client services director at Further in downtown Cleveland.
