- ➤ The Portage Foundation created the Leadership Portage County Alumni and Friends Endowment fund on April 17 to support local leadership programs. - ➤ Norton teen Joshua Fetter's discovery of 2,000-year-old stone tools near an Airbnb in Sugarcreek is celebrated by Kent State researchers, who say the well-preserved artifacts may have been part of an Adena ritual. The tools will have a permanent home at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Record-Courier

- ➤ Two Portage County bridge projects will begin April 27, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. I-76 work in Palmyra Township will cause lane restrictions through mid-May, while the S.R. 305 bridge in Nelson Township will be closed until mid-June with a detour on S.R. 88 north to U.S. 422. - ➤ The Aurora Greenmen girls won the Don Faix Invitational at Crestwood on Saturday with 127 points and will host Kent Roosevelt at Veterans Stadium Wednesday at 5 p.m., while the Streetsboro Rockets finished second after strong sprint and hurdle shows (coach comments indicate growing promise).
