  • United Way of Portage County is asking non-profits such as churches and child care centers to submit project ideas for the Day of Caring event on June 27—this event will connect volunteers with community projects. Volunteers will sign up in May while groups can sponsor or request more details by contacting Maureen Gebhardt.  Record-Courier

  • Kent State senior fashion students will present their collections at the Annual Fashion Show at Crawford Hall from April 24 to April 26 as part of Fashion Week—showcasing 161 looks from 41 designers selected by industry professionals.   • On April 16th at the Kohanski Conference Center in Aurora, local tax experts and officials explained how property taxes, bond issues and levies work while comparing funding for schools with a proposed Browns stadium bond.
