🎓 Education
Kent State will host a commemorative talk on May 3 at 1 p.m. in the Kiva on Kent Campus as part of its 55-Year Commemoration of May 4.
Senior lecturer Mahli Mechenbier will share her personal history from Operation: Babylift with input from her father, retired Maj. Gen. Ed Mechenbier, who will join via Zoom—explaining how their past experiences have shaped their lives.
🌲 Environment
Habitat for Humanity of Portage County’s ReStore will host its annual Recycle Extravaganza on May 14 from 4pm—7pm at 1510 S.
Water Street in Kent, where community members will recycle items like electronics, paint, clothing and home goods to keep waste out of landfills and enjoy paper shredding, shopping discounts, raffles and a Wiener Guy.
