  • Immigration attorney Allison Hight will lead a free event called Immigration Under Siege: A Legal Update and Call to Action at 5 p.m. Sunday at Kent United Church of Christ on E. Main St.—she will explain basic immigration law and discuss how people can support those affected by recent policy changes.  Record-Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • Trader Joe's recalled a batch of its Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon sold in Ohio for an undeclared milk allergen—about 500 units were mispackaged with parmesan cheese crumbles instead of crispy onions—and customers with milk allergies are told to discard the product.  Record-Courier
  • Bread sold at Giant Eagle in Kent was recalled after the FDA found glass pieces on top — it was sold there between April 7 and April 12. Customers are told to throw the bread away and bring in their receipt for a refund, and no one was hurt.  FOX8
  • Ticks are now more common in Ohio as warmer weather brings more outdoor activity and experts note an increase from one or two tick species in the 1990s to six today (including two invasive species). Health officials urge residents to use repellent and check themselves and pets for ticks to help prevent Lyme disease and other illnesses.  Record-Courier
