  • A Portage County jury convicted Kent man Albert Carmen DiTomaso for driving under the influence on January 22 when his car hit a Spectrum truck—killing his friend William A. Williams and seriously injuring the truck driver.  Record-Courier

CULTURE NEWS

  • The School of Peace and Conflict Studies unveiled the 'Visualizing Peace, a work in progress' mural ahead of Sunday's 55th observance of the Kent State shootings that killed four people and injured nine others. The artwork, created by young artists under the guidance of Vickie Boatright of BZTAT Studios, aims to spark dialogue on overcoming conflict + chaos.  FOX8
  • On April 22, 2025, Dan Rager spoke at the James A Garfield Historical Society event where he explained how Northeast Ohio's interurban railway and electric transportation systems helped people travel and shared stories of the systems' decline after the flood of 1913.
