- ➤ Kent State University's School of Fashion held its Awards Night Annual Fashion Show (part of a week-long Fashion Week) on Friday in Crawford Hall. The student-driven event showcased 173 looks by 48 designers as the school readies for Fern Mallis’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Kent State Today
- ➤ The League of Women Voters chapters serving Northern Portage, Kent and Geauga will host a free screening of the Tony Award-winning musical Suffs at Hiram College’s Hayden Auditorium on May 8, 2026. - ➤ On April 20, 2026, the James A. Garfield Historical Society met to welcome a new member and handle business including wind damaged sign repairs and potential open house plans — a crowded 'Cradle to Grave' event at The Mill on April 21 highlighted the Garfield Trail with exhibits and costumed history.
