- ➤ The May 4 Task Force— a student group remembering the tragic protest that killed four students and injured nine— marked its 50th anniversary with an event held on May 2 at Bowman Hall where local and Emerson College students shared insights on free speech and remembrance. - ➤ Spotted lanternflies have been found in Ohio and harm plants by feeding and leaving a sticky substance that attracts pests—officials advise local residents to scrape egg masses into soapy water or alcohol to destroy them. - ➤ Ohio air travelers must use a Real ID to pass TSA starting May 7 to avoid delays. The Real ID shows a star in the upper right (per the Ohio BMV) and drivers need to update their license at a BMV location with required documents. Record-Courier
- ➤ Ravenna, Kent and Streetsboro settled a civil lawsuit with Portage County and Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski over funds from the defunct drug task force, with each city receiving $51,911.81 ($35,245.14 from the sheriff and $16,666.67 from the county). The agreement was signed by the parties and dismissed with prejudice to permanently end the case. Record-Courier
