GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Portage County Engineer's Office announced two one-day road closures in the southeast quadrant for culvert replacements; Cabe Line Road near 10644 Cable Line will be closed today while Mahoning Road at 3258 Mahoning will be closed Thursday—no traffic will be allowed through either route.  Record-Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Local high school softball brackets show that Ravenna and Streetsboro earned home tournament games for the first time in several years while improving teams in the Metro Athletic Conference boost their win totals. Top seeds such as Aurora and Mogadore will face key matchups and Field will host a district semifinal on May 20 — the brackets promise tough battles ahead.  Record-Courier
