- ➤ Korean War veteran Max Bowers (96) received his long-awaited Purple Heart nearly 75 years after being wounded and will join his family in the Cuyahoga Falls Memorial Day parade today. His granddaughter gathered records to secure the medal he deserved. Record-Courier

- ➤ This November, Kent State will host the Poets for Science Gathering, a three-day event blending academic panels & festival-style workshops with over 90 sessions on nature, science, and community topics. Registration costs range from $150 for students to $275 for full participation. Record-Courier
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Kent State University received a $1.75M gift from the Elisabeth Severance Prentiss Foundation to expand its Mobile Flashes program that offers health services to underserved areas in Northeast Ohio. The funding will allow the outreach to double the number of clients served and extend services to local school systems (boosting student learning through hands-on experience). Record-Courier
