  • Kent State Alumni Association invites community members to name one of its well-known black squirrels by donating $20.26 or another amount in a fundraising contest. Sixteen top names will advance in a summer vote with the winning name receiving a plush toy & an official digital certificate.  Record-Courier

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kent State University announced James Hannon as dean and chief administrative officer for the Stark and Salem campuses. Hannon (who served as interim since last summer and led the College of Education, Health and Human Services) will begin his role moving forward.  Record-Courier

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The geodesic dome known as The Dome is on the market at 166 Currie Hall, listed at $185,000 for a new business venture. Built in 1978 on .94 acres and formerly home to the Moonbase Bar, city officials welcome efforts to revitalize the property.  Record-Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Myles Garrett posted a farewell message on Instagram Monday, June 1 after a trade sent him to the Rams for Jared Verse and three draft picks (first-round, second-round, and third-round) following nine years with the Browns. He thanked local fans for their support.  Record-Courier
