- ➤ The Peach Truck, run by Stephen and Jessica Rose, is returning this summer to northeast Ohio with stops in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Kent and other areas for customers to pick up preordered peaches or schedule home delivery. The schedule lists stops in Summit, Medina, Portage and Stark counties with pick-up times set from June to August. Record-Courier
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Elisa Grecar and her daughter Maddie McGee both graduated from Kent State University in May, with Elisa earning a degree in psychology and Maddie receiving a degree in zoology as they crossed the stage—Elisa also celebrated her other daughters’ graduations from Bowling Green State University and Stow-Munroe Falls High School and now plans to pursue a master’s degree in school counseling while Maddie will begin work at the Akron Zoo. - ➤ Kent State University's Crawford Hall earned LEED Silver certification for its sustainable design features such as energy-efficient systems and water-saving fixtures—showing the university's commitment to green building practices. The four-story facility opened in August 2024 and now houses the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship as the 16th LEED-certified building in the system. Kent State Today

- ➤ Ohio named its 1905 Wright Flyer III the official state aircraft after Gov. Mike DeWine signed a law in April. The rule takes effect on July 2—honoring the Wright brothers and Ohio's role in early flight. Record-Courier
- ➤ Purdue Pharma has won support from Ohio and 54 other states for a $7.4B settlement that resolves opioid lawsuits, with the Sackler family agreeing to pay about $6.5B and Purdue contributing about $900M under its Chapter 11 plan. Ohio will receive up to $198M from the settlement — funds that will go to individuals, local and state governments, and Native American tribes once Purdue secures enough creditor support.
