- ➤ After heavy rainfall, the Kent Fire Department warned paddlers on the Cuyahoga River to avoid inflatables when dangerously high water flows were recorded, with flows reaching 2,030 cfs on June 23 + rescues in Kent confirmed the increased risks. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ County Engineer Larry Jenkins said work will begin soon on replacing the Old Forge Road bridge in Rootstown near the Johnnycake Road and Old Forge Road intersection over Breakneck Creek. The bridge will be fully closed for reconstruction on June 30 and the project is expected to finish by November (a federal grant covers 95% of the project cost and a contract was awarded to Stanley Miller Construction Co.).
