  • Wizardly Weekend will return downtown Kent on July 18-19 with a range of family-friendly events — including themed merchandise, a vendor village and a costumed run in Fred Fuller Park — organizers said. Additional activities on July 19 will offer crafts, food and games at local venues.  Record-Courier
  • The 61st Ox Roast Fair will be held July 18—20 at St. Joseph Parish in Mantua, featuring tractor and truck pulls, carnival rides, live music and Ox Roast beef slow-cooked in brick-lined pits. Parking costs $5 per vehicle—discounts are offered on Sunday with a food donation.  Record-Courier

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohio passed the E-Check Ease Act earlier this year to give car owners an option to get an alternative emissions certificate and to exempt vehicles six years old or newer. The Ohio EPA submitted a proposal to the U.S. EPA — if approved, the state will end the program soon to save drivers time and money.  FOX8
