- ➤ Ohio's tax-free weekend is now a two-week event that will begin at midnight on Aug. 1 and end at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 14, and most tangible personal property costing up to $500, including food, clothing and books, will be tax-free. Online orders that meet the criteria, such as those on Amazon, will also be included while vehicles, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products remain taxed. Record-Courier

- ➤ Dr. Timothy McDermott from OSU Extension said that tick bites and Lyme disease have increased across Ohio, affecting people, pets and farm animals and putting kids at risk. - ➤ The Ohio Department of Health Laboratory confirmed that mosquito pools collected on July 9 from parks in Kent tested positive for West Nile virus, and no human cases have been reported.
