Honorary Way in Ravenna will be renamed for the late Patti Hicks as a tribute to her years of service to local groups, and the ceremony is scheduled for noon tomorrow at the Ravenna Courthouse Lawn — the designation marks her ongoing impact on the community.

The Freedom Township Historical Society opened a barn photo display at its building on 7276 State Route 303 to mark the township’s bicentennial—nearly 90 photos arranged by street addresses like State Route 303, 88, and 700 are on view until August 13.

Kent State University and city officials announced a $25.5 million project to improve safety and the look of a three-quarter-mile stretch of East Main Street on campus.

The work will begin mid-to-late August 2025 and continue in two phases through 2028—adding orange barrels, two roundabouts, a continuous tree-lined boulevard and reconfigured pedestrian crossings to help slow traffic.
