- ➤ Kent State University will hold its summer commencement ceremony on Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center—where 1,032 degrees will be awarded from its eight campuses across Ohio—with more than 600 graduates from the Kent and regional campuses confirmed to attend and hear speeches by President Todd Diacon and Executive Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley. - ➤ Kent officials announced a $25.5 million plan to renovate almost three-quarters of a mile of East Main Street near Kent State University with two new roundabouts and phased work through 2028 starting by late August. Construction will keep traffic moving with one lane in each direction and add tree-lined sidewalks and 34 EV charging stations—steps aimed at improving safety for cars and pedestrians. Record-Courier
