  • Anna Maria of Aurora will host its 16th Annual Charity Car Show on Saturday, August 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.—a free event that features classic cars, hot rods, live music by Soundwave, food trucks, and vehicle awards to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association with hopes to surpass last year’s $24,000 total.  Weekly Villager

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A three-vehicle crash on SR 261 in Kent killed Akron motorcyclist Shaun Phelps on August 12 when a Subaru Outback (making a left turn) collided with his motorcycle and spun to hit a Toyota Camry, and Kent EMS took the Subaru driver to a local hospital.  Record-Courier

CULTURE NEWS

  • Rootstown grad Sam Kropp was crowned the first Voice of Ravenna winner on Saturday at the West Main Street Winery in Ravenna—she performed songs by Carrie Underwood and Miley Cyrus and beat out top competitors. She will join the Ravenna Rocks Board next year to help plan the next show and present her successor with the trophy.  Weekly Villager
