GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ODOT is seeking public comments on a road and bridge project in northern Portage County that will resurface State Routes 82 and 88 and upgrade several bridges starting in Spring 2026. Officials plan to manage traffic with at least one 10-foot lane in each direction and a 21-day road closure on State Route 700 (comments are accepted until Sept. 5).  Record-Courier
  • Portage County Engineer Larry Jenkins said work to replace the Judson Road bridge in Franklin Township will start next week using a $529,083 contract awarded to Matt Winters Excavating LLC from Stow. The bridge, which spans the Wheeling and Lake Erie railroad tracks near Seasons Road, will undergo deck replacement and rehabilitation—work expected to be completed in Fall.  Record-Courier
