- ➤ TownHall II’s Integrated Health Service held its third annual community picnic to honor recovery efforts — featuring a live performance and remarks by local musician Marc Lee Shannon — at Hometown Bank’s Plaza in downtown Kent. Weekly Villager
- ➤ The Kent and Portage Crop Walk will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 28 at Trail Lake Park + 605 Ravenna Road in Streetsboro and is sponsored by the Kent InterFaith Alliance for Racial Reconciliation and Justice and First Christian Church. Half of the funds will support food programs at Kent Social Services and the Center of Hope locally while the other half will support global hunger relief. Record-Courier
- ➤ Kent neighbors will gather on Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Standing Rock Cultural Arts Center for the free, family-friendly 1st WTF is Happening Community Gathering—featuring local art, live music, food trucks, and wellness sessions that build community connections. Record-Courier

- ➤ The roads near the Portage County Courthouse in Ravenna will be closed Sept. 24 for roof work as a crane will be set up at 6 a.m. on South Chestnut Street, which will reopen at 9:30 a.m.—workers will then move to South Park Way until installation is complete with no set end time. Record-Courier

- ➤ Townhall II Integrated Health Network has opened a new Medicine-Assisted Treatment Clinic in Ravenna at 512 N. Chestnut St. and is booking appointments for patients with opioid and alcohol use disorders. The clinic offers daily, weekly and monthly treatment options—expanding recovery services available in Kent—and aims to improve access for those in need. Record-Courier

- ➤ Highland volleyball beat Aurora in a five-set match with scores of 25-13, 24-26, 12-25, 29-27, 15-13 on Sept. 18, and coach Laura Merk said the Hornets fought hard in every set as they re-opened their chance in the title race. Record-Courier
- ➤ Highland volleyball senior Kamryn Heldreth discussed her team’s impressive comeback win at Aurora on Sept. 18, 2025—she said the turnaround showed their strong effort during a challenging match. Record-Courier
- ➤ The Garfield G-Men won 41-6 against LaBrae last Friday with a strong late surge led by sophomore Ryder Cain. Coach Mike Moser said the team pulled a big win—now they look forward to playing Champion today at 7 p.m. in Garrettsville. Weekly Villager
- ➤ The Crestwood Red Devils boys’ soccer team beat Ravenna 5-1 last Saturday at Portage Community Bank Stadium — quick early goals from Ryder Miller helped build a strong lead and solid physical play kept control of the match.
