- ➤ Kent State University was confirmed as the highest-ranked public school in northern Ohio—earning a national ranking of 129 in the new U.S. News Best Colleges report—and its undergraduate engineering programs ranked among the top 50, reinforcing its commitment to high-quality, accessible education. - ➤ U.S. News released its 2026 college rankings Tuesday — the University of Akron ranked No. 373 in National Universities and Kent State ranked No. 232 while other Ohio schools such as Ohio State and Case Western Reserve received higher marks.
