Community Action Council of Portage County will assist income-eligible residents with high winter energy bills through the HEAP Winter Crisis Program from Nov.
2 to March 31, with appointments opening at 9 a.m. Oct. 19 and limited same-day slots available if you call at 8 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

The Suffield Township Historical Society invites residents to celebrate America's 250 years at Suffield Town Center on Oct.
18 from 2 to 7 p.m (lawn chairs are suggested as food and refreshments will be available) in a program featuring worship, a barbershop quartet, magic show and ventriloquist performance.
