- ➤ The Veteran's Grave Marker Project has identified and marked 53 unmarked veteran graves at Maple Grove Cemetery in Portage County—including World War II veterans Frank and Martha Graeser—and has found 110 more graves that do not qualify for federally provided markers. - ➤ On November 11, residents in Kent and Ravenna attended Veterans Day ceremonies honoring Portage County veterans despite cold and brisk winds—community groups and officials provided coffee, bagpipes, and rifle volleys as tributes were held at the courthouse lawn and near the Gateway Transit Center. - ➤ On Tuesday morning, a house fire near Streetsboro High School killed two dogs and caused over $50,000 in damage as firefighters from Aurora, Mantua, Kent, Twinsburg, and Reminderville responded—officials said the blaze likely started from an unattended clothes dryer. News 5 Cleveland
