  • The aurora borealis, seen over Ohio on Nov. 11, may shine again tonight as a strong geomagnetic storm watch is in effect with the best viewing between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.—find a dark spot away from city lights for a better view.  Record-Courier

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from Ohio utilities, upholding a January ruling that ended an unnecessary RTO adder fee—saving consumers roughly $400 million through 2031. Consumer advocates called the decision a huge win for Ohio electricity customers.  Record-Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Kent State football coach Mark Carney praised his team after their 42-35 overtime win over Akron on Nov. 11, saying their effort and teamwork led to the victory.  Record-Courier
  • On November 7, Mogadore won a 54-7 regional quarterfinal over East Palestine with running back Conner Lehner rushing for 242 yards and four touchdowns; the Wildcats will host East Canton in a Region 25 semifinal next.  Record-Courier
  • Kent State men’s basketball signed two guards on Nov.12 as Jakhi Calloway from Columbus Bishop Hartley and Dhani Miller from Montverde Academy in Roselle, New Jersey joined the team on grant-in-aid agreements. Coach Rob Senderoff praised Calloway’s defense and Miller’s versatility + noted their potential impact on the team.  Record-Courier
