- ➤ Families in Summit County and nearby areas can choose to cut their own Christmas trees this season at local farms; Heritage Farms in Peninsula opens Nov. 22 with tree fields closing at 5 p.m., and farms such as — Shawnee Trail in Hudson, Stone Garden Farm in Richfield Township, River Run and Wintergreen in Mantua, and Moore’s, Williams and Windy Hill in Stark County — offer festive services while trees last. - ➤ Kids Weekend Meals will hold its Thanksgiving Plunge at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning at B Ranch to raise $20,000 and work toward a $45,000 goal for feeding 185 children into 2026.
