- ➤ Kent State swept the MAC awards when their quarterback Dru DeShields, linebacker Mason Woods and punter Charlie Durkin earned weekly honors in a 42-35 overtime win over Akron on Nov. 11—DeShields threw for 319 yards with five touchdowns, Woods made 13 tackles and Durkin averaged 40.8 yards per punt. Senior forward Delrecco Gillespie also earned a MAC honor in men’s basketball by averaging 22.7 points and 14 rebounds in wins over North Carolina Wilmington, Cleveland State and Wright State.
