- ➤ Garrettsville United Methodist Church hosts a musical celebration on Dec. 21 at 3:00 p.m. with choral performances, handbell ensembles, and narrations (including biblical readings and seasonal melodies); all are welcome to enjoy this festive event. Weekly Villager
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Beginning fall 2027, Bio-Med Science Academy will move its elementary K-6 programs to Kent State University’s Schwartz Center at 800 E. Summit St. on campus, consolidating about 600 students and 50 staff with a partnership approved by the Board of Trustees. Kent State Today
- ➤ Middle school girls from Northeast Ohio attended STEM Goes Red at NEOMED (Rootstown) on Dec. 12. The event featured breakout STEM sessions, a cadaver heart demo and a panel of local female professionals. Record-Courier
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ At Independence Fieldhouse last weekend, the Crestwood Red Devils finished 10th at the North Coast Classic by scoring 357.5 points — junior Rocco Wrobel earned second in the 126-pound class. The team will next face Benedictine in Cleveland on Friday at 1 p.m. Weekly Villager
- ➤ The Cardinal Huskies won their NAC opener 45-32 against Pymatuning Valley last Thursday in Middlefield, led by Ivy Kaminski's 27 points. They will host St. John on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. in a crossover league game as they continue their three-game win streak. Weekly Villager
- ➤ The Garfield G-Men lost 83–55 to Rootstown last Saturday at the JAG Fieldhouse as they struggled with offensive inconsistency — they will try to bounce back against Waterloo in Garrettsville on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Weekly Villager
