- ➤ The Community Action Council and Catholic Charities of Portage County launched the Jump Start Car Repair program, which provided up to $1,500 for low-income car owners to fix their vehicles. Applicants must meet income limits (below 200% poverty) and submit an estimate from an ASE-certified vendor in Portage County. Record-Courier

- ➤ Portage County Community Action Council is now accepting registrations for the HEAP Winter Crisis Program, a federally funded effort that helps low-income residents keep their heating on between Nov. 1 and Mar. 31.
