- ➤ Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night, a mobile sound sculpture, is set for Dec. 28 at Hometown Bank Plaza in downtown Kent; it was postponed on Dec. 14 because of severe cold. - ➤ A Kent State student brightened Michael Hawkins (a Kent State alumnus and head librarian) when she handed him a kind note at the Hub on Thursday, Dec. 18. Hawkins said the gesture lifted his spirits and highlighted the caring campus community. Kent State Today
- ➤ Kent school board appointed newly elected member P.J. Errera to fill the unexpired term left by Tiera Moore’s resignation (Oct. 31). The board also named Alicia R. Crowe as president and Rebekah Wright Kulis as vice president for the rest of this year. Record-Courier

- ➤ Menards will pay $4.25 million in a multi-state settlement over deceptive advertising that showed an 11% rebate as an instant discount instead of future credit.
