- ➤ Joshua Fortson, a 37-year-old man from Akron, was sentenced to 29 years in prison on Thursday after a federal jury convicted him of trafficking methamphetamine and unlawfully possessing a firearm, and he operated his drug business in Summit and Portage counties using a driver to transport drugs from Georgia. - ➤ The Wilderness Center celebrated National Native Plant Month by opening its Native Plant Sale on March 24. David, a Vietnam War veteran from the 101st Airborne, risked his life on May 7th, 1970 to protect wounded comrades while injured himself — on Jan. 3rd he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and his name was added to the Cleveland VA’s Wall of Valor as he continues to support fellow veterans in Trumbull County.
