- ➤ Kent police are collecting school supplies for Kent Social Services with a donation box in the police lobby until July 29; families in need can register by calling Kent Social Services (330-673-6963) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, with registration closing on July 30. - ➤ TownHall II Integrated Health Services and Neighborhood Development Services broke ground on the new Serenity House crisis center at 3761 Lovers Lane in Ravenna on July 17, which will offer short-term shelter and mental health care. Officials and community leaders (including Mayor Frank Seman and Portage County Commissioner Sabrina Christian-Bennett) attended the event as renovations plan to create private rooms and staff areas to support residents in crisis.
